BUACA PUBLIC PROFILE 2019




BUACA is funded by donations from the public. We currently accept items such as toys, electronic goods, play equipment or any items family may need for relocating. Many BUACA members have made personal sacrifices, using their own funds to help the support their mission as well as funding to pay for transport and accomodation being supplied by the members themselfes.....


How are BUACA funds distributed and for what purposes?


Presently, most funds are raised and used in our communities. It has long been the philosophy for BUACA to use monies in the communities from which they are raised. The purposes of the funds are multifaceted. BUACA administrative costs include telephone services, Internet services, website, postage, office supplies, Travel, printing of brochures and other resources. Most of the BUACA travel and accomodation costs are met by members paying for it out of thewir own funds...


WhenBUACA visit a child we use our financial resources to providethe child/familywith BUACA mementos such as a vest, patches, pins, T-shirts, Beanies, toys to give the child a sense of security and belonging. The T-shirts have our logo on the back that identifies the child as part of our BUACA family.We are always looking for sponsors of our buddy shirts as the sponsors name can appear on either sleeve of the child shirt.......


BUACA also Intends to finances a therapy assistance fund to support children’s counselling when they are left without resources. BUACA will Lias with experienced counsellors known for their expertise in working with children and will pay them a discounted rate for their services. In this way, BUACA sacrifices, the therapist sacrifices, and the child benefits. The counselling assistance fund is also used to help finance the children’s basic needs, i.e. school supplies, camps, sports activities, hobbies, toiletries, clothes, beds, or whatever the child might need to feel more secure in their environment.

Who administers the day-to-day operations of BUACA?


There are no paid BUACA staff persons. BUACA members freely and willingly volunteer their services., any member might put in hours coordinating, organizing and executing events and rides, community awareness opportunities, and keeping track of our children’s progress in the court system and in the home environment. There are many positions within each BUACA chapter with corresponding duties, including: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, BUACA-Child Liaison, Road Captain, Sergeant-at-Arms, Security, Historian, Newsletter Editor, Merchandise Officer, Event Specialist, Website Coordinator, Follow-up Coordinator, and other positions deemed necessary to operate the chapter to fulfil the roles of a BUACA member or supporter ....


BUACA National is run by the Founder Pete Geary who has worked voluntary for over 19 years helping establish the BUACA.In that time Pete has supported the BUACA to ensure its survival and its ability to be able to ensure no child should live in fear, Pete Geary has made it a mission to ensure the day to day running of the BUACA is met efficiently and accountable as to ensure the full accoutability of our orginisation is and will always remain honest and effective to ensure we are here for the next ten years of helping protect children Australia wide....
